Why Request an Assessment?

Utility Bills Often Show That Something Changed Before They Show Why

The assessment helps narrow the issues that deserve attention and gives your team a practical starting point for further investigation or corrective action.

Unexpected Utility Increases

Review changes in cost, consumption, demand and rates to determine what appears to be contributing to higher bills.

Locations Performing Differently

Compare similar locations to identify outliers and stores that may warrant additional operational or equipment review.

Billing and Rate Concerns

Identify unusual fees, rate-classification questions, demand charges and other items that may require utility follow-up.

Possible Scheduling Waste

Look for usage patterns that may be consistent with extended runtime, overnight operation or inconsistent schedules.

High Demand Charges

Review billed demand, peak exposure and demand-related costs that may be creating avoidable expense.

Planning a Larger Energy Program

Establish a baseline before considering controls, equipment upgrades, procurement changes or portfolio-wide initiatives.

What We Review

More Than a Simple Bill Total

We analyze twelve consecutive months of available utility data for each location. Where appropriate, we compare usage, cost and demand across time, between locations and against relevant operating or regional reference points.

Utility bills alone cannot confirm every equipment or operational cause. The assessment identifies patterns, concerns and opportunities that may warrant additional investigation, verification or implementation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Before You Begin

How many months of utility bills are required?

Twelve consecutive months of electric bills are required for each location. Natural-gas and water bills may also be submitted when available.

Can you determine exactly what caused every utility increase?

No. Utility bills can reveal changes, patterns, rate issues, demand exposure and possible operating concerns, but they cannot always confirm the precise equipment or operational cause. Additional interval data, controls information or onsite verification may be needed.

What types of opportunities may be identified?

Opportunities may include billing concerns, rate issues, excessive demand, unusual usage, scheduling inconsistencies, procurement questions, water anomalies and potential equipment or control improvements.

Can you assess more than one location?

Yes. Online ordering is available for portfolios of up to ten locations. Larger portfolios should contact GWT2Energy so the scope and data requirements can be coordinated.

What happens after the assessment?

You may act on the recommendations using your existing team and vendors. GWT2Energy can also discuss verification, implementation, utility follow-up or broader portfolio support when appropriate.

Are the savings estimates guaranteed?

The identified opportunities are estimates based on the bills and information provided. Actual savings depend on implementation, equipment condition, operating practices, utility rates, weather and other factors.

How does the $500 guarantee work?

The guarantee applies separately to each completed location. If fewer than $500 in estimated annual savings opportunities are identified, the $499 assessment fee paid for that location will be refunded.

How is our utility information handled?

Utility bills and location information are used to process and prepare the requested assessment and are handled in accordance with the GWT2Energy Privacy Policy.

About the Estimates
